During the two-hour session, MMG will:

• Walk your property with you

• Learn about your vision for the landscape, how you’d like to use it, and what your goals are

• Identify possibilities and limitations of the site

• Share initial impressions and creative possibilities for garden layout and planting compositions

• Answer any questions regarding the design process or next steps

No, the Consultation does not include drawings, plans, or formal deliverables. It’s meant to be an informative conversation to help you envision how thoughtful planting can transform your landscape. We recommend taking notes to revisit and review as needed.

To help ensure our time together is productive and focused, please consider sharing the following materials in advance:

• Recent images or short video walkthroughs of your property, highlighting areas of interest or concern

• Any existing site plans, surveys, or architectural drawings, if available

• A brief outline of your goals, challenges, or priorities

• Inspiration images or references that reflect your aesthetic preferences

• Any specific questions or topics you wish to discuss

The On-Site Consultation does not include written documentation or visuals. However, if you’d like additional materials prepared after the consult—such as a written summary, mood boards, or preliminary sketches—these can be provided as an optional service. This work is billed separately, with fees based on MMG’s hourly rates, details of which are available upon request. 

MMG focuses exclusively on planting design in the creation of gardens. We do not design structural hardscape features such as patios, retaining walls, grading plans, or drainage systems. For detailed hardscape design, we recommend collaborating with a licensed landscape architect. MMG is happy to provide feedback on planned hardscape features and how they might interface with plantings, and we often work alongside landscape architects in the garden-making process.
